The CONCORA Friends of Bach Committee presents
An Evening of Wine, Jazz & Song
Saturday January 21, 2012
Porter Memorial Hall, First Church of Christ Congregational
75 Main St., Farmington CT
(snow date: Sunday, January 28, 6:00-9:00 p.m.)
The “Wine, Jazz, and Song” fundraiser supports CONCORA’s March 25, 2012 performance of Bach’s Magnificat (BWV 243), Cantata 1 Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern! and the Concerto in D Minor for Harpsichord (BWV 1052), all performed in collaboration with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
This annual fundraising event, organized by CONCORA’s Friends of Bach Committee, is now in its tenth year. It has become increasingly popular, and no wonder: it's a lovely evening of food, wine and music; good cheer and laughter, and the gathering of people who love good music and conversation.
Attendance is limited; reserve your place ($50 per guest) by calling the CONCORA office at 860-293-0567.
Between songs from the American songbook and classic jazz performed by CONCORA singers and the Sir William Trio, sommelier Raymond Petke will present red wines for tasting (white wines and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available). This will all be accompanied by hot hors-d’oeuvres, tapas, canapés, empanadas, and other delicacies hand-crafted by the Friends of Bach. You may dedicate the songs listed below to people and/or causes of your choice. Our minimum suggested donation is $25.00 per song. All of the proceeds directly support CONCORA’s Bach concert on March 25.
