I walked out to the back patio to scatter seeds for the birds. The fog lay thick and quiet over the snow, as warm air over the snow drew moisture into the air.
This caught my eye:
This feather, bedewed with moisture from the fog, is probably from a Mourning Dove; they feed here every day. This body feather is about one inch long.
Look in your yard today. What little beauty catches your eye? A twig with an interesting shape? A colorful bit of lichen? The pattern of the bark on a familiar tree?
Stop. Look. Beauty is all around you.
